The border town of Jedburgh welcomed 70 St Leonards ramblers who began their visit to the town by enjoying morning refreshments in the local Woollen Mills. They then re boarded the coach to be taken to the respective starting points for their walks. The low group began at Crailinghall, walked the short distance south till they met the Roman Road known as Dere Street. This they followed North westwards for some 3 miles before turning sharply south and walking a further 3 miles into Jedburgh.

The High walkers meantime had been dropped off  further north and took a more circular route by Crailing and Mounthooly before they too made their way south by the same route as the low walkers to finish in Jedburgh.

The weather had been kind and so a quick change out of walking gear, allowed the ramblers plenty of time to enjoy the town’s facilities before the 2 hour trip back to East Kilbride.
