St Leonards Rambling Club is based in East Kilbride, near Glasgow in central Scotland. We walk on every second Saturday - rain, hail or shine!
We have a membership of 100 and a constant waiting list for the following year.
Our walks take us as all over central and southern Scotland - from the grandeur of the highlands at Pitlochry, in the north, to the rolling border hills in the south. We regularly visit both east and west coasts and sometimes go over the border into England. The 53 seat coach leaves from St Leonards Church car park at 8.00am, and it returns at approximately. 6.30pm. The cost for the day-out, in 2009, is £8 for members and £9 for visitors.

On each of our days-out, we always have two guided walks – a high and a low walk, for walkers of different abilities. Each walk has a leader and backmarker and each group is kept reasonable close together for safety reasons. All participants must be equipped with the proper gear ie, walking boots and waterproof clothing. They should also bring a packed lunch in a small day rucksack and a change of clothing in a bag, to leave on the coach. At the end of each day-out, we spend an hour in a nearby local town or village where we enjoy a coffee, a pint of beer or just a visit reinforcing the strong social side of the club.

Booking-on for the walks takes place on the Tuesday previous to the walk, in St Leonards Church Hall, in East Kilbride. Members book on at 7.30pm and, if there are any seats left on the coach, visitors may book on at 7.45pm.
